Hello and welcome to my August 2018 dividend portfolio report. This portfolio is where I invest for mainly dividend returns, but with some capital growth. In this report I will go over any changes that I made to my portfolio for the month of August. I will also detail how the portfolio performed. If you would like to look at the previous months report you can find it here
Portfolio sells
In August I again continued the work of reducing my holdings in funds. In this month I made two sales. One of which reduced my holding in that fund down to zero. My sells for August were:
- 2,995.595 units of Standard Life Inv Global Smaller Companies Class S. This added £3,400.00 back into my portfolio. After this sale I still have 5,912.720 units of this fund. It is likely that I will sell all of this holding in September.
- 65.87 units of Barings Europe Select Class I. This one added £2,774.44 back into my portfolio. I held off on selling my stake in this fund until August due to them giving there yearly dividend in that month. Once the dividend was payed out I sold my entire holding in this fund.
Portfolio buys
There was quite a bit of buys this month after some quite large sells in funds. In total I made four buy deals this month, all of which were investment of around £2000. Two of them I held already in my portfolio. The FTSE All-World is a new investment. I made one purchase of it at the start of the month and one at the end of the month. The buys were as follows:
- 30 units of Vanguard Funds plc FTSE All-World UCITS ETF. First investment in this ETF
- 48 units of Vanguard Funds plc S&P 500 UCITS ETF. This was a second buy in this ETF taking my holding to £4,163.68
- 46 units of Vanguard Funds plc FTSE All World High Dividend Yield. Another second buy, which brings this holding to £4,037.35
- 30 units of Vanguard Funds plc FTSE All-World UCITS ETF. Second buy of this ETF later in the month. It took my holding in this ETF to £3,996.54
Dividends
August was a reasonable month dividend wise. I received three dividends this month.
The investments that paid a dividend this month were the following.

Total for the month of August was £46.57 ($60.66). While this does sound high the Barings dividend went straight back out for Broker and management fees.
My current dividend total for 2018 stands at £169.69 ($221.04)
My current forecast for September dividends is £30.15 ($39.27)
